Co-op revelations from the University of Victoria
Pia told me time and again that if I weren't there, the projects I worked on never would have happened. Yet I didn't perform extraneous librarian wish-list tasks reserved specifically for co-op students. I fulfilled the responsibilities of a professional librarian, with the web pages having both an immediate effect and making a lasting contribution to the instruction program at McPherson Library.
Despite my preference for language precision, I suppose it doesn't matter what this is called:
A co-op student project.
Professional, degreed librarian work.
Or just plain "Library Help."
Whatever the label, I am pleased and proud to have been a part of the team at McPherson, and feel all the more prepared to graduate library school and enter the field with confidence.
